Human remains found after pair arrested over woman’s disappearance

Human remains have been discovered and two people have been arrested following the suspicious disappearance of a woman from her home on the weekend.

The woman, 31, was last seen about 6.30am on Sunday at her home in Canadian, near Ballarat.

On Tuesday morning, investigators uncovered human remains in Nambrok, near Sale, more than 350 kilometres away from the missing woman’s home. The remains are yet to be identified.

The discovery came after police arrested a 22-year-old man at a property in Melbourne’s west at Phair Court, Altona, on Monday night. A 19-year-old woman was also arrested.

The homicide squad is investigating and is appealing for witnesses.
