Critics’ Choice Awards 2019: Nicole Kidman, Lady Gaga appear in Santa Monica

She’s known for her flawless fashion sense but Nicole Kidman has turned heads at the Critics’ Choice Awards, wearing a lopsided gown.

She was joined by Lady Gaga, Julia Roberts, Emily Blunt, Chrissy Teigen and more on the red carpet in Santa Monica.

It’s the second major Hollywood awards in a week after the Golden Globes.

Kidman stunned in the strapless black-and-white down by Armani Prive, which featured an unusual lopsided curved silhouette.

The Boy Erased star, 51, teamed the daring dress with natural-looking makeup, with her hair out and pinned at the sides.

Monochrome seemed to be a popular trend on the blue carpet at the Critics’ Choice Awards, with Julia Roberts sporting a similar outfit.

Roberts, 51, wore a pair of dressy white trousers teamed with a mullet-cut vest jacket on top (it looks better than it sounds).

A Star is Born’s Lady Gaga, 32, blended in with her vanilla strapless Calvin Klein by Appointment gown after making a statement in blue at last week’s Golden Globes.

Her song from the movie, Shallow, won the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Song.

Last week, Gaga apologised for her 2013 duet with R. Kelly in the wake of sexual misconduct allegations against the singer, and removed the song from streaming services.

“What I am hearing about the allegations against R. Kelly is absolutely horrifying and indefensible,” Gaga said.

She said she collaborated Kelly on Do What U Want (With My Body) during a “dark time” in her life as a victim of sexual assault. She said she should have sought therapy or other help instead.

“I think it’s clear how explicitly twisted my thinking was at the time,” Gaga said.

“If I could go back and have a talk with my younger self I’d tell her to go through the therapy I have since then so that I could understand the confused post- traumatic state that I was in,” she wrote.
