Cole fires as Rangers dominate Snell’s home farewell for Flames

Dandenong Rangers want to finish their season in a winning way, and they were true to their word with a wire-to-wire victory over Sydney University Flames on Sunday.

Rangers guard Bec Cole was again outstanding with 25 points and four steals in her side’s 85-60 win at Brydens Stadium in Sydney, against a Flames side featuring retiring WNBL great Belinda Snell playing her final home game.

Cole’s excellent play could make a compelling case for a first WNBL all-star five berth, although she faces very strong competition from WNBA imports like Kia Nurse and Lindsay Allen.

The Mirboo North-raised Snell had 10 points, 10 rebounds and five assists for the injury-hit Flames who again lost a player late in the game, when guard Sarah Graham went down with a lower leg injury in the second half.
